[Nagisa ignores the threat, humming a random song as he hops around the kitchen to gather what he needs to do his part.]

--ah, what am I supposed to do with the meat?

_{[ Rei just laughed as his enthusiasm which was refreshing as always, and of course he went over to the vegetables to get them ready. That was, until Nagisa asked what he was supposed to do with the meat. ]}

Oh--You add a few spices to it before grilling it. I already got all of the bad parts off of it, so all you have to do is grill it on the stove--let me show you.

<sub>[ Rei would bring the plate of meat that he had prepared and then point to the one Nagisa should season it with. The moment Nagisa would go to pick up the jar or spices or sauces would be the exact moment that Rei would pick it up as well, causing their hands to brush against each other.

....Also causing Rei to blush and forget what he was doing. ]</sub>

[Nagisa flushes a little as well, but he quickly hides it behind a laugh before taking the jar anyway and opening it. He sniffs it gently-- woo how strong.]

Thanks...Rei-chan. [He sprinkles the spices on, making sure it's all well spread.] Sorry for distracting you, Rei-chan.

_{[ Nagisa is doing just fine, but here Rei goes, still worrying. He sighed while adjusting his glasses, trying to regain his composure. ]}

That should be enough, now you could cook it if you want. _{[ He still has not touched the veggies... ]}

[Nagisa gathers the pan and the oil, prepping the pan with oil and setting the stove at a medium heat.]

Is this hot enough?

Captain?--and yes, definitely put it on medium so that it will not burn. Be sure to check the meat every now and then so you can flip it when needed.

_{[ Rei decided that he should actually start on the veggies now, so he put a pan right next to Nagisa's pan that he was working on so that they could both cook next to each other. ]}

Yup- you're still captain, even here, Rei-chan!

[He smiles and hums, setting the meat in the pan and grabbing a spatula to press on it.]

I suppose I am still the high school captain, since even here...Makoto-senpai and Haruka-senpai have both graduated.

_{[ Not that he wasn't about to graduate here soon since he was technically a 3rd year here too as well. Anyway, he's also impressed that Nagisa is taking cooking seriously and not playing around....yet. ]}

[And he flips it! Yelping a little when some hot oil flies out of the pan and gets on him.]

_{[ He heard the yelling, and he immediately dropped what he was doing to make sure Nagisa was alright, probably grabbing whatever he might be holding--assuming it was a hand that got hit with the oil. ]}

Are you alright?! How much got on it?

It hurt, Rei-chan! Cooking is hard! [Nagisa puffs up his cheeks, glaring at the pan that dared to hurt him!!! It was just...a little drop of oil, probably, but Nagisa likes being doted on by Rei sooooooo...

<sub>[ Well, Rei was running to the cabinet to get a bandage, but then Nagisa distracted him by saying...well...that. He froze and looked like he had just been told the most shocking news in history, which he kind of had since it's not like he completely expected Nagisa to even mention something like that on---well. This was....Valentine's.....and maybe he was trying to work up the nerves to tell him about how they dated here, but....still!

This was too much for his fragile heart, though he knew somehow that Nagisa would not stop pouting until he did something or at least spoke. ]</sub>

....Why? I mean---why would you?! Do you really need me to...do that?!?! Absolutely not!!! _{[ Don't worry, he will. ]}

[He laughs it off- of course he laughs it off. Sure, he had some hope he'd get a little kiss, even if it's just because of a boo-boo. But after the Valentine's day spread on the table... what else is he supposed to feel?]

Ah, just kidding, Rei-chan! [He gives a smile, though it doesn't reach his eyes.] A bandage should be fine... it's not that bad, though, stop worrying so much! Dinner's going to get cold if we keep messing around.

[He returns to the meat, tapping on it with his spatula before turning off the stove.]

<sub>[ He noticed that smile not completely matching up with his expression, though he thought it may just be his imagination, but the expression lasted for more than a few seconds. Rei looked puzzled, wondering why he was looking like that since there was no way he would want him to---Then he realized what Nagisa had said before, when they were dating here which was something about how those feelings had always been there for him, even if they forgot everything that happened here.

Maybe....he should ask about it? ]</sub>

Why do you look like you're disappointed, Nagisa-kun?

_{[ He was right about the cold dinner, though, so he started setting everything neatly onto some plates if he hadn't already. ]}

[Nagisa busies himself with scooping the portions onto a separate plate before rinsing off the pan in the sink.]

What do you mean, Rei-chan? Ah, I guess I am a little disappointed that I'm not a master chef! [He laughs softly, ignoring the uncomfortable clenching of his heart, the feeling of crushed hope.

This isn't like him, it's not like him at all, but Nagisa doesn't have the courage for this particular thing. He doesn't want to guess wrong, doesn't want to ruin this great friendship. After all...to Rei, love is illogical, right?]

_{[ He doesn't know why he had to keep this going on, but maybe he could get up the courage to tell him about the time he was here beforehand and then maybe get into that. Rei could tell by his tone that something was bothering him, even if he knew that getting too hopeful over it being the something he was thinking about as that was pretty illogical anyway. ]}

Let's sit at the table, alright? I could perhaps tell you about the times you were here that you don't remember?

_{[ He's going to start out playful and just say fun things, but Valentine's was a special day to him, even if it wasn't the exact date that they got together previously. ]}

[Nagisa's a bit surprise that this came up so suddenly, and he'd be suspicious about the connection if he wasn't so overtaken by curiosity instead. He always wondered about all the stuff he's been up to before now other than owning a cool business.

He nods, regaining some of his actual excitement back instead of putting on a facade.]

It was alright, since you hadn't seen me in so long, I think? You said previously that you hadn't seen me in a year or so. Everyone was surprised at how excited you were, myself included.

[Nagisa laughs loudly at the image of him spilling meat all over Rei. It must have been hilarious- and he can imagine why he'd be so excited to see Rei. A whole year of not seeing him-- well, it sounds lonely and miserable. Meat means nothing when Rei's around! Unless it's Rei's meat if you know what I mean.]

Is it really that surprising? I probably missed you a lot, Rei-chan.

[He digs into his meal, feet swinging.]

It was at first, only because I had seen you the day before, yet it had been a while for you--a-and it was not funny! I had to buy a stain remover the first day I was here!

_{[ Okay, it was a little funny just because he had gotten over it and Nagisa was at least smiling and laughing again. But either way, he didn't know where else to go from there since it wasn't long until Valentine's Day....Maybe Christmas could come first. ]}

Well, we spent Christmas together which was nice, my then "father" hung underwear in our house and you thought that it was hilarious. I bought you entirely too much, as always. I needed a job after that to make money, and of course you somehow got me to work at your business, which I suppose was right before the Valentine's dance.

Yes, though the landlord had some weird flower effect going on during the dance. For instance, people who were friends hated each other and some people gained crushes on each other---It was quite strange! Though, I suppose not all effects were bad since we had a wonderful time together at the dance. It was just...after the dance that sparked some interesting conversations!

[Although his voice is light and teasing, his heart actually clenches at the thought. He doesn't want Rei to get a girlfriend... though he does want Rei to be happy.]

He wasn't sure if Nagisa was completely ready to hear just how many people they had both talked to about this, but he supposed he could ease into it cautiously. ]}

Er...I suppose something like a "crush" would be correct, though I thought it was just the effect of everything at first as did the other person involved. _{[ lol that other person bein u, nagisa. ]}

But after the effects wore off, neither of us felt any different, so that sparked some conversations. I felt bad for Rin-senpai and Makoto-senpai the most since I think they got the majority of what was going on from both of us---
